Even the poles carrying the hanging ropes are swinging! The clothes pins are ready to slip. Monsoons may reach 60 km an hour, their winds and rains washing the air. The colours of the batik are like flames that burn in the wind against a background of the dark houses and grey trunk of the coconut tree. Clouds pass by and patches of light run on the grass. |
