The tide carries three sampan (small boats) one red, one green, one blue, on a sandy shore at the estuary of a river—secured together whatever the whims of the tide may be. They are a group of friends, or people from various origins, conversing quietly, whatever the rumours of the times are. Their colours are in the water and on the sand too, discretely adding visual harmony to the gathering.
